October is breast cancer awareness month and I am amazed at how much this movement has grown over the years. There are so many walks/marathons dedicated to raising money for research, creative fundraising events and product where a percentage is donated. While watching football with the hubs, I noticed all the players had on something pink. I think the pink cleats were my favorite. It grows every year and I do not know a single person who hasn’t been affected by this disease in some way.
I lost two of the most amazing women I knew, my grandmothers, to breast cancer and I am always inspired by even the smallest act of recognition or awareness building when it comes to the disease. I recently walked into Vanilla Bake Shop where they are donating every cent of the sales from their Mom’s Birthday Cake cupcake to breast cancer research. Stop by their shops on October 19th and 20th to support the cause and enjoy some scrumptious treats.
It got me thinking, every little bit helps and every new person who is made aware, is completely worth it. Why not throw a fundraiser at home? I hope this post provides some fun inspiration for your pink soiree and brings you closer to the ones you love.
